5 Dining Option In Westin Desaru Coast (Include Nearby Recommendation)
If you’re headed to The Westin Desaru Coast Resort (one of the best resort in Desaru), this post will help you choose your dining options during your visit.
I’ve included options within the Westin Resort Desaru area and some nearby restaurants.
You can walk to dining spots at Hard Rock Desaru and Anantara Resort Desaru, or if you want to explore further, take the free shuttle bus to Els Valley and Els Ocean.
With your own transport, you have even more options, including local food in Sungai Rengit and Bandar Penawar.

Alternatively, you can look for Private Car Service From Singapore To Desaru.
1. Seasonal Taste – Local Food
You can see the Seasonal Taste restaurant entrance beside Westin Desaru Coast’s swimming pool. This is what the entrance looks like.
Here, everyone can enjoy their complimentary breakfast buffet. A dinner buffet is also available here.
Local cuisine is the main focus, and the food is fantastic, too.
But, if you are looking for an international favourite, this restaurant is not for you.
Compared to the breakfast at Hard Rock Resort, I found the food here far better in taste. Here are some photos of the delicious local dishes I enjoyed.
2. Prego – Italian Food
Prego, their Italian restaurant, is next on my Westin Desaru Coast food adventure!
You’re transported to a charming Italian atmosphere when you enter this restaurant (check out my photos).

Speaking of food, I ordered their Italian risotto. A must-try for risotto lovers, it tasted unique and great! Here is my dinner photo.
A heads up: there may be a slight wait for your food if you visit on a weekend. But don’t worry!
Prego keeps you happy with complimentary bread served with a delicious Italian sauce.
Trust me, it’s good enough to be a meal on itself
3. Mix Lounge – Bar At The Lobby
You can also find Mix Lounge at the lobby side.
Honestly, there is nothing special about this lounge. I ordered a simple pick-me-up of fresh juice during my shuttle bus wait for RM22. Not bad.

4. Beach Bar – Western Bar
Of course, while you are at Westin Desaru Coast, you will not want to miss chilling at the beach. There is a bar called Beach Bar that you can stop by.
For more information and photos, refer to my in-depth Westin Desaru Resort review.
The Beach Bar mainly serves drinks and simple foods, which are great for when you’re hungry and want to relax by the beach.
You shouldn’t expect a fancy meal, but these bites are great for the beach.
5. Pool Bar – Drinks On The Poolside
Last but not least is the Pool Bar!
The Pool Bar is a perfect spot to relax with snacks and drinks by the poolside. You can enjoy your refreshments right on your lounge chair and table, shaded by a large umbrella.
I recommend visiting in the morning or after 4:30 pm for the most comfortable experience and weather.
6. Nearby Restaurant – Within Walking Distance
You’ll find several excellent dining options just a short walk from Westin Desaru Coast.
6.1 Sea.Fire.Salt – Anantara Resort Desaru
6.2 Infinity Pool – Anantara Resort Desaru
6.3 Observatory Bar – Anantara Resort Desaru
6.4 Tumeric – Anantara Resort Desaru
6.5 Elephant & Butterfly Pool bar – Hard Rock Resort Desaru
7. Nearby Restaurant – By Shuttle Bus DG1 & DG2
You can also hop on the DG1 or DG2 Desaru Coast shuttle bus to discover more restaurants.
7.1 Big Easy Bar & Grill at ELS Ocean – Western Restaurant
7.2 Lembah Restaurant at ELS Valley – Indian & Fijian Food
8. Conclusion
While staying in the Westin Resort Desaru, if you want a wider food selection, you need to have your own transport.
The transport can either be your own car or a hired private car. This way, you can travel around Sungai Rengit and Bandar Penawar for more food choices.
For a 2D1N or 3D2N Desaru Trip, the food choice around the Desaru Coast should be enough.
But of course, the food selection will be limited to the ones that you can get along the shuttle bus route and also by walking.
Therefore, I really recommend you hire a private car service from Singapore to the Desaru area.
Why?
Imagine if you are taking a ferry to Desaru at 10:00 am, you will have at least 5 hours of waiting time before you can checked-in at 3:00 pm.
By booking the full-day tour with the private car company, you will have some activities to do and kill some time.
Many group families opt for the private car service that will pick them up early in the morning. This will give them some flexibility on their weekend schedule and no waiting time.
Furthermore, it is cost-effective. Try it!
