New ferry service route from Singapore to Desaru starting from on 7 July 2022 which operate by Batamfast

The only one ferry terminal that allows passengers to travel from Singapore to Johor, which is Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

 

 

This is a great alternative to avoid heavy traffic on the causeway.

Make sure you have obtained all entry and exit visas, health and other required documents and ensuring your passport has at least 6 months validity from date of travel before purchase the ferry ticket to avoid deny boarding.

The ferry operates only ONE trip in the morning on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

During Singapore Holiday the ferry operator may operate during weekday Monday to Sunday.

4. How To Go Malaysia From Singapore By Train

Another convenient transportation from Singapore to Malaysia is taking the train.

The train, called Shuttle Tebrau is one of the easiest ways to cross the Singapore-Johor border and it takes only 5 minutes! (But the whole journey takes 1 hours to cross the border)

Singapore station is located at Woodlands while at the Malaysia side is located at Johor Bahru Sentral.

5. How To Go Malaysia From Singapore By Taxi

To get the taxi from Singapore to Malaysia, you can find the yellow licensed taxis at Ban San Street which is next to Queen’s Street Bus Terminal, where you can go from Bugis MRT station.

 

However, the downside here is that there is no saying about the return journey. There are not too many taxis that are willing to come back from JB to Singapore.

Also, the price is really expensive compared to buses and trains where it may charge from SGD$60.

Sometimes, the driver prefers to fill the whole taxi, a maximum of 4 people, hence it is not suitable for couples or lone travellers. The time travel is about 1.5 hours depending on the traffic condition.
