1. Overview of Singapore – Desaru Coast
There are only TWO ways to get from Singapore to Desaru Coast: land or sea.
On land, you can travel by car or bus. If you dread the traffic on land or just want a change of scenery, then the ferry is for you.

2. Transport To Desaru Coast By Private Car Taxi
The best way to travel from Singapore to Desaru Coast is by private taxi, no contest. And there are several good reasons why it’s the preferred mode of transportation.

If you want to bypass the horrendous traffic on the Causeway, go by ferry.
The BatamFast ferry service from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal will take you to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal. Once there, it’s only a short Desaru Coast shuttle bus ride to your resort in Desaru.

Why Not To Choose Ferry Service:
- Limited departure schedule
- Doesn’t operate daily
- Quite pricey (SGD 108 round trip per person)
- You have to park your car at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal with charges
- Not suitable if you are travelling in a group of more than 3 people
Recommended:
- If you hate traffic jams
- For solo traveller or a pair

4. Transport To Desaru Coast By Car (Self-Driving)
Another way to travel to Desaru from Singapore is by car.
Whether you’re renting or you have your own, self-driving gives you the fantastic opportunity to travel around and explore Desaru.

- You will have to bear petrol costs and toll fees
- Need to pay for your own parking (if any)
- Can be stressful and tiring to endure the terrible traffic when you’re behind the wheel
- You have to navigate your own way

- Make a stop in Pengerang for attractions like Desaru Ostrich Farm and Desaru Alpaca Animal Farm
- Pengerang is also well-known for its fresh seafood, so make sure to check out the seafood restaurants.
5. Transport To Desaru Coast By Bus
Going by bus is another option. And while it’s an economical choice, we feel obligated to tell you that travelling by bus to Desaru is NOT RECOMMENDED at all.
This is because Causeway Link buses (direct public bus) to Desaru have been suspended due to low demand! Most travellers prefer going by car or ferry.
Currently, only WTS Travel Coach provides a direct transfer from Singapore to Desaru.
Why Not To Choose Bus:
- Fixed departure schedule
- Designated pick-up point might be inconvenient
- You will have to alight with your luggage at SG-MY checkpoints and customs
- Not convenient AT ALL for family or group trips
- You will still be stuck in traffic in an uncomfortable vehicle
