7. My final thought
1. How Far & How Long Will It Take To Get To Legoland Malaysia
Before we get into the nitty gritty of transport options, let’s go through the basics.
How Far Is Singapore To Legoland Malaysia Resort / Theme Park?
Legoland Malaysia is located in Iskandar Puteri, which is about 25-35 km away via Tuas 2nd Link.
How Long Does It Take To Get From Singapore To Legoland Malaysia?
Averagely, it takes about an hour’s drive from Singapore to Legoland Theme Park.
Of course, it all depends on traffic at customs. But during off-peak hours, it could be as fast as 30 minutes.
Notes:
- 7:00am – 9:00am, or 4:30pm – 8:0pm is considered rush hour traffic, where the roads will be flooded with Malaysians returning to JB from work in Singapore.
- During rush hour, it may take 1-2 hours to cross the border.
- For the long weekend or holiday season, please try to depart as early as possible from Singapore, as traffic jams may take as long as 3-4 hours.
- All this is VERY important for you to avoid wasting unnecessary time in infuriating traffic jams.
2. Best Transport To Legoland Malaysia: Private MPV Car
I promise I’ll get to all the possible transport options soon.
But first, let me give it to you straight on what is arguably the BEST way to travel from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia.
It is an MPV private car taxi. In case you’re not sure what that is, click here: Private Taxi To Legoland Malaysia for more info.
These are several good reasons why this is the best option:
- Doorstep pickup from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia Theme Park
- Affordable rates at SGD100 for a luxurious and comfortable MPV car
- Flexible pickup time
- You don’t have to get down at Singaporean and Malaysian Checkpoints
- You don’t have to alight with your luggage for custom clearance and scanning
- It’s convenient to bring all your belongings with you
- You’ll save energy for Legoland Malaysia instead of wasting it at the customs checkpoint
- You don’t have to drive!
- Plenty of positive feedback from customers
As you can see, most families take a private taxi directly from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia. In fact, tickets at the theme park and resort will cost even more than a private taxi hire.
Now, if budget is your main concern or if you’re travelling solo, there are other transport options you can consider.

3. Transport To Legoland Malaysia By CW Bus
Now, please be aware that this is a “hop-on, hop-off” bus—NOT a direct bus.
This could be considered the worst choice of transportation to Legoland Malaysia, and I would only recommend it if you’re on a really tight budget.
Here’s how you can take the bus to Legoland Malaysia:
- Take the CW bus from Singapore to Malaysia via CIQ 2nd Link
- Then take the connecting bus CW7L.
Notes:
- As you can see, the CW7L bus is meant to stop at Medini Mall. But because it’s so rare for people to take the route, the bus seldom makes a stop here.
- This can make it frustrating and a waste of time, which is why I don’t usually recommend people to take “hop-on, hop-off” buses.
Alternative CW Routes from Singapore to CIQ JB 2nd Link | |
Bus | Route |
CW3 & CW4 | From Jurong Town Hall Interchange to JB CIQ 2nd Link |
CW6 | From Boon Lay to JB CIQ 2nd Link |

4. Transport To Legoland Malaysia By Local Taxi
I have written before about taking a private taxi hire from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia over here: Taxi Service From Singapore To Legoland Malaysia.
However, in this post, I’ll explain to you some of the other taxi options.
This is the Ban-San Taxi Terminal (located on Bugis Queen Street).
Here, you can find regular (non-private) taxi services to Johor.
Tips:
- If you have a little room in your budget and you don’t want to take the bus, come to this Singapore-Johor taxi station and ask for a “carpool” share price.
Notes:
- 1 trip can come up to SGD 60
- Pick-up time and drop-off point are not flexible (for carpool)
- If you don’t want to carpool, you can opt to get the whole taxi to yourself (price starts from SGD 60)
- In that case, you might as well top up the cost and get a private taxi to Legoland instead.
It’s important to know that there are 2 types of taxi options from Singapore to Legoland Malaysia:
Option 1: Only specially licensed Singapore taxis are allowed to cross the border and go to Larkin Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru.
From there you can hop into a Malaysian taxi to bring you to Legoland Malaysia.
Option 2: Malaysian yellow taxis are permitted to take passengers from the Ban San St. Taxi Kiosk on Queen St. (5-minute walk from Bugis MRT Station).
It goes straight to Legoland Malaysia without any need of transfer.
Reminder:
- When returning from Legoland Malaysia, these taxis will NOT drop you at your house but ONLY at the Ban San St. Taxi Kiosk on Queen St (near Bugis MRT).
5. Transport To Legoland Malaysia By Travel Coach

6. Transport to Legoland Malaysia By KTM Train / Flight
If you’re thinking of either catching the KTM train or a flight to Legoland, think again.
Let me explain.
KTM Train:
- Keep in mind, there are NO direct train services from Singapore to the surrounding Legoland area.
- For non-locals, there’s no need to ask Google for a solution to this. There aren’t any.
- The KTM train only brings you from Woodlands Train Station to JB Sentral, which is very far away from Legoland Malaysia.
- For the full KTM train travel guide, please read this post: KTM Train To JB From Singapore
Flight:
- If you’re looking for an airport near Legoland, or if you’re considering flying in from Changi, it’s not possible.
- This is because there are NO flights available on this route from Singapore to Senai Airport.
- Unless you’re flying into Senai Airport from KL and not Singapore. In which case you can then grab a taxi from Senai to Legoland Malaysia.
7. My Final Thought
Let me remind you again, since Singapore doesn’t have many public holidays, there will always be a massive influx of travellers during the weekend or holiday season.
The checkpoints and customs clearance in Singapore and Malaysia will be afflicted with terrible jams—both human and vehicular!
Many tourists have had their holiday ruined because of the wrong transport choice, which causes them to waste countless hours in traffic.
These photos are 100% real, by the way. This is just the truth of the real situation.
As locals unfortunately know this better than anyone else.
