At JB CIQ Second Link, follow directions that will lead you to clear Malaysia immigration.
Step 3: Clear Immigration & Return To Same Bus Company
After immigration clearance, head back to the bus stop. Get back on the same bus operator for your journey to Singapore.
Step 4: Disembark at Tuas Checkpoint & Proceed to Singapore Immigration
The bus will stop at Tuas Checkpoint for Singapore immigration clearance, so alight with your luggage.
Be ready to show your passport, immigration documents, as well as luggage for inspection.
Step 5: Board The Bus Again At Tuas Checkpoint To Your Destination In Singapore

6. Train From JB To Singapore
The train ride takes just 5 minutes, though the entire journey can take about 1 hour. This is because of the lengthy time it takes for immigration clearance and to board the train.
Step 1: Book KTM Train JB To SIngapore Tickets Online

You’re not advised to buy your tickets over-the-counter as they would most likely be sold out, especially during weekends and peak hours.
Step 2: Make Your Way To JB Sentral
Get to JB Sentral by Grab car, local taxi, or a bus from Larkin Sentral.
Step 3: Walk To JB Sentral Main Hall Gate A
Inside JB Sentral, head to Gate A on your left. This is where KTM Shuttle Tebrau to Woodlands will depart.
The boarding gate will open 30 minutes before departure time and close 10 minutes before.
Step 4: Head Down Escalator For Immigration Clearance
Once you’ve passed the gate, have your passport ready! Your passport will serve as your boarding pass, and will be used for scanning at the Automated Control Gate (ACG).
Then, go down the escalator for immigration clearance. You can choose to go through manual counters or electric gates (e-gates).
Step 5: Take the 5 Minutes Train Ride To Singapore from JB Sentral
After immigration clearance, wait in the waiting room until the gate is open to board. Once it’s time, head to the platform and get on the train.
Step 6: Immigration Clearance At Woodlands Train Checkpoint
You will arrive at Woodlands Train Checkpoint (the last stop).
Alight the train, and follow the crowd (or the signs) to go to the immigration hall for clearance.
Step 7: Proceed To Your Destination In Singapore
Go up the escalator, turn left, and continue straight on the overhead bridge. From there, you can go to the bus stop or taxi stand, and continue on to your destination in Singapore.
Few Things To Note:
- Make sure your passport has at least 30 days validity before you travel.
- There’s no need to print out your train ticket since you’ll be using your passport as your boarding pass.
7. Self-Driving From JB To Singapore
When self-driving from JB to Singapore, it is important that you have all the necessary documents with you before you travel. Miss out even one and your trip will be ruined!
Step 1: Prepare Documents Before Driving Into Singapore From JB
These are the mandatory items you need before travelling into Singapore with your own car:

- Valid road tax of your vehicle
- Valid insurance of your vehicle
- SGAC submitted 3 days prior to your arrival
Step 2: Drive Your Car To JB CIQ First Link or JB CIQ 2nd Link For Malaysia Side Custom Clearance
For Malaysians, only your passport is required for customs clearance.
For non-Malaysians, have your embarkation and disembarkation card (and visa, if applicable) at the ready.
Step 3: Drive Your Car To Tuas Checkpoint Or Woodlands Checkpoint For Primary Immigration Clearance
Immigration clearance can be done two ways: QR code (see details here) or physical passport.

Here’s how to ensure a smooth process:
- If you choose QR code, have it ready for scanning.
- If you choose physical passport, wind down your windows so that the officer can see how many people are in the car with you. Make sure your interior lights are turned on so that the officer can see clearly.
- If required by the immigration officer, open your car boot for inspection.
- Make sure you have already filled up SGAC online.
Step 4: Pay Toll Charges, Reciprocal Road Charge & VEP Fees Using Autopass
Be ready to pay the necessary charges when entering Singapore.

8. Ferry From Desaru To Singapore
The ferry to Singapore only departs from Tanjung Pengelih and Desaru. If you’re in JB, don’t bother taking the ferry because it would just be too impractical.

Step 1: Purchase Ferry From Desaru/Tg. Pengelih To Singapore Ticket Online

Step 4: Board Ferry From Desaru / Tg. Pengelih To Singapore

About 45 minutes.
Step 5: Clear Singapore Immigration & Custom Checks
Upon arrival at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, disembark the ferry and undergo immigration and customs clearance.
Step 6: Hop On A Public Bus Or Taxi To Singapore
From Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, you can choose to take a bus or a local taxi to your intended destination in Singapore.
Few Things To Note:
- Please arrive early at the ferry terminal. Since there is only one ferry ride a day, you wouldn’t want to miss your ferry!

9. Coach From JB To Singapore
While there are 3 coach operators, they all only depart from Legoland Malaysia. Thus, you should only take it if you’re travelling from Legoland Malaysia to Singapore.
