Tips: Request For Late Checkout
First things first, request for a late check out!
As the standard checkout time is 12:00pm, and your ferry departure is 5:30pm, you’re left with a five-hour gap to fill.
So, I suggest requesting a complimentary late checkout at 3:00pm (most hotels will allow this!), as I did during my trip.
This way, you can check out leisurely at 3:00pm, then unwind with a drink at the lounge while waiting for the shuttle bus.
If you’re staying at the Westin Desaru, the shuttle bus will arrive at 4:00pm or 4:35pm and then it’s just a quick 10-minute ride to the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal.

You can choose to either wait outside the gate or at the air-conditioned indoor lounge.
