Desaru Coast Public Beach VS Desaru Public Beach
Everyone knows that you come to Desaru Coast for the fantastic beaches, tranquil seas, and luxury Desaru beach resorts.
So if you’re booking a stay, you might have two things on your hotel checklist: seaview and beachfront location.
Well, you’ve come to the right place.
To ensure a smooth planning for the perfect holiday, I’ll be showing you all of the beaches located near Desaru Coast resorts.
By the end of this Desaru Coast Beach Guide, you’ll know which resort has the best beach views.
1. Overview Of Desaru Coast Beach
Fact: all of the resorts in Desaru are actually located along the same coast. Of course, each resort has its own separate entrance, standard of quality, and price point.
For instance, the further you are from Point A, the higher the rates.
While these resorts are all on the same coast, they are not fenced or gated up. Therefore, it’s perfectly all right for guests to walk across the beach from Point A to Point D.

B: Desaru Coast Public Beach (Westin Resort)
- Located across from Westin Resort.
- This is also a public beach.
- Free entry, but there is no entrance from the public road. You would have to enter through the Westin lobby and walk to the beach.
- Guests staying at Westin, Hard Rock, and Anantara will usually access this beach from their respective resorts.
C: Anantara Desaru Resort Beach Side
- Technically, it is only accessible to Anantara guests.
- It is located next to the public beach at Westin Resort.
- But you can actually easily walk from Point B (Westin Resort) to the beach at Anantara.
D: One&Only Desaru Beach Side
- Not so easy to enter if you’re not a guest.
- It is far away from Point A.
- This is an exclusive luxury resort, with a minimum room rate of RM 3000 per night, so you might understand why it’s not so accessible to the public.
2. A: Desaru Public Beach
Point A: Desaru Beach can easily be accessed by anyone and you can drive directly to the parking area on the beach.
Let me show you some of the photos I took during my visit.
As you can see, this is a public beach, so cleanliness is not up to the standard. The beach is usually littered with trash.
It is only a 5-minute walk from the beach to Westin Desaru Resort. You can walk to the right hand side on the beach to Westin Resort as shown in below image.
3. B: Desaru Coast Public Beach (Opposite Westin Desaru Resort)
- You can walk to the beach from Westin Desaru Resort.
- This is what the beach looks like at 10:00am.
- Here’s the view from Westin Desaru. There is a sidewalk from the beach here to Anantara Desaru.

5. D: One&Only Desaru Beach
- This is by far the most expensive and luxurious resort, even more so than Anantara.
- For starters, the basic room rates at One&Only are double that of Anantara.
- And while Westin and Hard Rock Resorts are both 5-star hotels, they are clearly leagues apart from One&Only.
- That is why this resort is located so far away from public areas and not as easily accessible as the other resorts.
Let me show you some of the photos near the beach that were taken by the customers of One&Only Resort.
6. Conclusion: My Final Thought
In a nutshell, the more you pay, the more you will gain in privacy and luxury.
And it makes sense. These resorts have their target market, and people will have to choose their accommodation based on their own budget.
So how do you access the nice beaches if you don’t have the budget to stay at one of the Desaru Coast resorts?
Let me share a couple of tips with you:
- If you want to access the beach located at Westin Resort Desaru, park your car at Westin Resort Desaru or Hard Rock Hotel Desaru. Once there, you can walk to the beach.
- You can also walk from Point A (public beach) to the beaches at Westin or Anantara.
