Note: The most popular bus routes to JB are:
- CW1,170X: High bus frequency with intervals every 2-3 minutes
- CW2: takes you directly to Woodlands Checkpoint. To go to Larkin Sentral, take CWL connecting bus.

5. CW1, 170X – Kranji MRT Station to JB CIQ / JB Sentral
This is a popular route taken by Malaysians to head back to JB.
Directions:
- Exit the MRT station and find the list of bus stations, pictured below.
- Search for CW1 or 170x to Woodlands Checkpoint.
Note:
- High bus frequency – bus comes every 2 to 3 minutes. (No need to worry about missing the bus!)
- Avoid taking the bus during working hours 7:00am – 9:00am & after-work hours from 5:00pm – 8:00pm as it will be very crowded both in the bus and at the checkpoint.
There are 2 buses you can take from Singapore Kranji MRT Station to different destination in Johor Bahru as below:
5.1 Causeway Link Bus CW1

Few Things To Note:
- You just have to tap the Ez-Link card once to get the receipt.
- Do not tap the payment machine when you alight at the checkpoint.
- Estimated travel time is 5 -10 minutes with 1 stop
- Do retain your tickets if you have paid by cash as you will need to show it when you reboard the bus.
5.2 SBS Bus 170X

6. CW2, SJE, 170 – Bugis Queen Street to JB CIQ/JB Sentral
There are 3 buses from Singapore Queen Street Terminal to different destinations in Johor Bahru.
6.1 CW2 – Bugis Queen Street to JB CIQ / JB Sentral
This bus routes takes you to Woodlands Checkpoint directly.
Directions:
- To get to Queen Street Terminal, walk from either Bugis or Rochor MRT station
Note:
- High bus frequency – bus comes every 15 to 30 minutes
- Fewer stops compared to SBS 170 (you may need to stand for one hour plus as it can get crowded)
- Keep your bus ticket during transit

- Less bus frequencies at checkpoint

This is one of the most economical buses to get to JB!

- Like CW2 and SJE, walk from either Bugis or Rochor MRT station to reach Bugis Queen Street Terminal

- Makes too many stops along before checkpoint
- Not recommended if you want to get to JB quickly

7. 950 – Woodlands Interchange to JB CIQ / JB Sentral
This bus stops at Marsiling MRT station, which is closer to the checkpoint.

- There are plenty of indirect buses to Woodlands Checkpoint from here.
- You can also search for Woodlands Train Station buses as well. The train station is only a 5-minute walk to Woodlands Checkpoint.
There is only ONE bus from Woodlands Temporarily Bus Interchange to JB Sentral Bus Terminal.

8. AC7 – Yishun Bus Interchange to JB CIQ / JB Sentral
If you live around Yishun, you can take this bus route.
Direction:
- Exit from Yishun MRT station
- Pay attention to the bus icon on the signboard
- Directions will take you to Yishun Bus Interchange (some of the direction stickers are on the floor)
Note:
- Include more buffer time as bus does not adhere to stated 25–30-minute frequency
- I suggest taking the CW1 bus from Kranji MRT as AC7’s berth is located at the far end and is 15 minutes Away from Yishun MRT.

9. SBS 160 – Jurong Town Hall to JB CIQ / JB Sentral
This is the only ONE bus from Jurong Town Hall that ends at Woodlands Checkpoint

10. CW5 – Newton Circus Food Center to JB CIQ / JB Sentral
This route brings you directly to JB Sentral and can be as short as a 35-minute ride during off-peak hours.
Direction:
- When you reach Newton MRT station, take exit B
- Make a U-Turn to Clemenceau Avenue and find the signboard to Newton Circus Food Center

- Can have infrequent bus times
There is only ONE bus from Singapore Newton Circus to JB CIQ Second Link.

11. TS1 – Changi Airport T1 & T4 to JB CIQ / JB Sentral
This is a popular Transtar Cross-border bus with multiple stops between Changi airport to JB.
Direction:
- Once you arrived at Changi Airport, go to Arrival Hall Coach Bay Lot 10/11.
- Take the TS1 bus to JB CIQ
Note:
- Recommended to wait at Terminal 1 instead to get a seat (First pick-up point) instead of Terminal 4
- No need to book the bus ticket in advance.
- I would suggest that you go to the Transtar Travel counter to confirm the timing / schedule.

This bus route also has multiple stops in between Pan Pacific and JB.
Note:
- Wait at Pan Pacific Hotel Bus Stop (02089) and NOT the Pan Pacific Hotel lobby
- There is no customer service counter here. The only way is just to wait here and track the bus using the LUGO App or Google Maps.
- No need to book the bus ticket in advance.

Like other Transtar buses, it has multiple stops in between destinations.

- If you’ve missed the bus and are in a rush, take the local taxi instead. Go to Bugis Queen Street bus station to take CW2/SJE bus.
- No need to book the bus ticket in advance.
- Ticket will be sold-out early especially during the long weekend holiday.

If you are coming from the CW1, CW2, or CW5 bus from Singapore, you need to change buses at JB CIQ to CWL. It will take you to Larkin Sentral.
