In this post, I’ll walk you through each step of the speedboat journey from Mersing Jetty to Rawa Island, complete with real photos I’ve taken along the way.

Overview Of Mersing Jetty

Let me show you my journey and the steps involved in taking the speedboat from Mersing Jetty to Rawa Island Resort.

 

Step 1: Get To The To Rawa Island Resort Office 

 

To get to Rawa Island by speedboat, you’ll need to arrive at the resort office one hour before departure time as advised in your booking confirmation email.

This is their standard procedure to ensure everything goes smoothly and to avoid delays.

However, during my 3D2N Rawa Island trip on a non-peak season, it only took me 15 minutes to get organized.

Plus, since Rawa Island uses their own boat service, it made the process even easier and straightforward.

Just to be safe though, I’d advise arriving an hour early, especially if it’s your first time!

Step 2: Register Your Arrival To The Office

 

Once you arrive at the resort office, you’ll need to inform them of your arrival.

 

They will then confirm your details and give you your booking details which you’ll need to present to the front desk of Rawa Island Resort upon your arrival.

Then, simply hand over all luggage and bags to be tagged with your room number.

 

Step 3: Purchase The Marine Park Ticket(s)

 

You’ll also need to purchase marine park tickets for everyone travelling with you.

 

 

You can do this by walking to the marine ticket counter, R23 which is at the Mersing Harbour Centre.

 

 

Step 4: Wait For The Speedboat To Be Ready 

 

Then, it’s just a matter of waiting for the speedboat.

Once it’s ready to be boarded, you’ll be informed and guided onto the speedboat.

 

 

 

Step 5: It Takes 30mins To Reach Rawa Island Resort Jetty

 

The speedboat trip to Rawa Island Jetty only takes approximately 30 minutes.

Do remember that it is compulsory for every speedboat passenger to have their life jackets on throughout the duration of the ride.

Step 6: Inform Front Desk Of Your Arrival

 

 

When you arrive at the island jetty, take a moment to enjoy the crystal-clear waters and enjoy the little fish swimming by the dock – your holiday has begun!

The staff at the resort will greet you with a welcome drink.

 

Head to the front desk to confirm your arrival and if your room is ready, you’ll receive the room key and be directed to your room.

Step 7: Ready For Your Lunch At 12:30pm

 

Don’t forget to stop by the restaurant for lunch!

While it’s not a 5-star dining experience, I’d still rate it about 3-stars as the food is relatively tasty and satisfying.

If you don’t have Malaysian mobile data, you can connect to the resort’s free WIFI.

Rawa Island does have mobile data service and it is impressively fast!
