2. My Journey From Mersing Jetty To Kampung Tekek
I bought tickets online at bluewater.my once I received the confirmation for my room reservation at Tioman Berjaya Resort.
Here is how to buy a Tioman ferry ticket:
I drove to Mersing Jetty and parked my car at the Rawa Resort Office, which is located right beside the jetty.

I picked up my boarding pass at the Bluewater ticket counter in Mersing Harbour Center. Make sure to check in online beforehand.

Don’t forget to pay for the Marine Park tickets: RM5 for Malaysian adults and RM30 for non-Malaysians.
Proceed to wait at the Mersing Jetty boarding area 20 to 30 minutes before departure.

The crew will ask you your destination in Tioman and arrange your luggage for specific drop-off jetties, making it easier to retrieve your bags at your desired destination.
Here’s what the interior looks like. If you experience seasickness or would like to smoke, you can go to the back of the ferry, which is outdoors, to get some fresh air.

You will reach the first destination in Tioman, Genting Jetty, in about 1.5 hours. Other stops include Paya Jetty, Tekek Jetty, Air Batang Jetty, and the last stop, Salang Jetty.

It takes about 30 minutes to travel from Genting to Tekek Jetty.
My family and I stopped at Tekek Jetty, which is the largest village in Tioman.
I booked Berjaya Tioman, so we looked for resort van to take us to the resort.

Bluewater Ferry operates from two jetties, providing services to Tioman Island as follows:
To obtain your physical ticket,
- if you’re departing from Mersing Jetty, visit the ticketing Counter W1 and W2 in Mersing Harbour Centre, just a short 100-meter walk from the departure terminal.
- If you’re departing from Teluk Gading (formerly known as Tanjung Gemok), you can find the ticket Counter at Kaunter 3 in Terminal Feri Teluk Gading.
4. Bluewater Ferry Route & Duration
The Bluewater Ferry departs from Mersing Jetty in Johor, making its way to Tioman Island with the following estimated travel times for each stop:
- Genting Pier (first stop): Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes
- Paya Pier (second stop): About 1 hour and 45 minutes (an additional 15 minutes)
- Tekek Pier (third stop): Roughly 2 hours (an extra 30 minutes)
- Air Batang Pier (fourth stop): Approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes (an additional 45 minutes)
- Salang Pier (final stop): Around 2 hours and 30 minutes (an extra hour)
